April 27, 2012  ¤  Male Inmates Age 26 - 30

I grew up in Minnesota, born and raised here. I am a father of one son who is 8 years old.

Growing up I loved baseball, basketball, golfing, fishing, camping, traveling, dancing at pow-wow’s, drawing, poetry and guitar and being around family. Favorite movies: Notorious Coach carter, Love of Basketball, Dances with Wolves, Smoke Signals, Soul Food. Favorite music: R&B, Hip-hop, Rap, Country, Pow-wow, LL Wayne, Ti, The Game, Lauren Alaiana, Montell Jordan, Tray Song.

I left all that at 12 years old when I started hanging around with the wrong people. I started smoking, drinking, it all became a big part of my life. All of my life I did things just to be accepted.

But, the real me is a man who is down to earth, with a good heart, who loves to listen, talk, and write. Truth is, I am glad I came here. It helped to open my eyes and make me realize how important my family is to me. Being here gave me a chance to get life straight and undrestand the road the road I was walking was not good.

Right now I am going to school for my GED, then I would like to go to college. I like roofing, I did that for 3 years. I like being around people and doing new things. Without God, I dont know where I would be. God gave me hope courage and faith. Bringing God close is what saved me.

Hoping I can share my life with good people, and to help the ones that aren’t while I am in here and also when I am released back into the world. I want to meet people who can be real. People who are willing to get to know the real me, not just because I am in prison. Someone who can be positive. Age, sex, race doesn’t really matter. You are who you are, and I like meeting different people.

Remember, be you. Don’t worry about what others say, only God can judge us. God bless you all, stay strong, positive and keep your head up no matter what anyone thinks. I am open to all so don’t be scared to ask.
