I have always had a job since 14 years of age.

From 2000 to 2005 I was a soldier in the US Army. I was deployed three times to both Kuwait and Iraq. I have played percussion instruments in band since 1998. I like all types of music, I especially like original compositions by artists with their own style.

I like to hold intelligent conversations about books, politics, traveling, ways to invest money, self-improvement, and career goals. I am not somebody who avoids constructive criticism. I am very open-minded and not a materialistic person.

My name is Darryl Torey Gibson.

I was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan on the east side of Detroit. I’m a black male, 30 years of age. I was incarcerated at the age of 22 and had come to Florida at the age of 21. My release date is currently 09.09.2024 and I will be 42 years old.

I’ve had many jobs as a youth, but I have never attended any College or University. I signed out of High School 10.05.1999 to help my mom out at home taking care of my grandmother Dorothy Gibson who passed away this year. To date, I haven’t had much time to really travel and experience life in other places.

I’ve grown here in prison. I’ve accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I was born and raised in New York City.

I was arrested in the summer of 1972 for murder. I was convicted after a jury trial and was sentenced for 25 to life for the shooting deaths of three men. I have been eligible for parole with my next parole board April 2013.

While imprisoned, I availed myself of various College programs before these programs became unavailable to prisoners. As a result, I was able to obtain an Associates degree in Science and Liberal Studies and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community and Human Services.
