Patrick Griffin – Inmate Penpal #061612-2335
June 16, 2012 ¤ Male Inmates Age 41 - 45
I consider myself a fairly normal guy who got himself into a really bad situation.
I made some really stupid decisions while drinking and it cost me more than I could ever have imagined. I ended up in prison! Not to imply that I was perfect before this, I had my share of problems in life, But I never thought I’d end up here. Anyway, more details about that when you write.
The worst thing about prison, is the idle time and boredom. On the outside, I remember thinking I never had enough time in a day. It seemed like I was always busy and there was always more stuff to get done. I would give anything to have that problem again. Here, its the opposite. Trying to find ways to occupy my mind and get through each day until I can leave here. Thats one reason I am trying to find a friend or two to write.
Mail is really great to recieve here. Hearing your name called at mail call is exciting and one of the best parts of the day here. Having a connection with the outside and knowing that someone is thinking about you is really uplifting. More on that too when you write.
Its pretty hard for me in here. I’m not a hard-core felon and though I am easy-going and get along with mostly everyone, I’m pretty far out of my element in here. In other words, I get by in here but I work hard not to become institutionalized. You can help me with that by writing. Its a rough world in here.
The stuff I do in here to stay busy are reading, TV, puzzles, working out and now I’m teaching myself guitar and spanish. I grew up in South Florida but have traveled all over the US. I even lived in the Bahamas for a few years. I have worked on boats most of my life, running them, fixing them, building them, and right now I miss them a lot. They don’t have boats in here…
Anyway, I love to write and have plenty of time to put into it at the moment. I try to keep my sense of humor through this and I’d be happy to meet someone and tell you more. I look forward to hearing from you. I really do!
Please help share me on Facebook and Twitter!
