Aristotle Stubblefield – Prison Penpal #071513-0132
July 15, 2013 ¤ Male Inmates Age 31 - 35
It is not the mistakes that determine ones destiny, but conscious, deliberate choices once an individual comes to an understanding of life.
Hello, my name is Aristotle Stubblefield and I’m currently serving a lengthy sentence for not grasping the reality of this statement. Prior to my incarceration, life was full of turmoil, disorder and confusion. Subsequently my personal struggles which hadn’t been adequately dealt with, manifested in a very shameful way for which I’m now paying the consequences.
After years of striving to find satisfactory answers to the ‘whys’, looking to something external, finally I went within and there, upon realizing that most definitive aspect of humans, our infinite nature, I found solace. And, not only peace but those most sought after yet rarely attained virtues: responsibility and accountability.
However, without the support from family, none of this would have been possible. They are my backbone and thus I’m obligated, not only to myself but to them for completely transforming how I think and thereby my actions.
For me, maximizing this time has allowed a greater awareness of the inherent potential whereby rather than just living, one lives purposefully, shunning what in the past caused stagnation as a result of poor decisions. Hence, I’ve grown to enjoy worthwhile activities such as analytical research, studying the complexities of behavioral economics, philosophy, comparative religion, and a host of other unconventional subjects.
Self-discipline, emotional balance, patience and an optimistic outlook are realities that were fostered during years of transforming my physique through physical fitness. This by far has been the most dynamic influence, for it requires a complete lifestyle change, a reordering of values and a keen attentiveness. All these very difficult yet needed modifications have culminated into the individual I am today.
And this, I’d like to ardently share with one of like mind.
Please help share me on Facebook and Twitter!
