Timothy Haney – Inmate Penpal #083016-2333
August 30, 2016 ¤ Male Inmates Age 36 - 40, Prison Penpals Serving Life
Hello, and if I may ask — how is life as you know it treating you at this moment? I sincerely hope all is well, and is continuing to get better. By way of introduction, my name is Tim and I am a blue-eyed country boy. So, now that you know the name I answer to, more importantly let me introduce you to who I am. Although I am presently incarcerated, I have to say that I am a study in comparison. I refer to the phase of my life’s journey in three parts. The past, present and the future.
My past is riddled with the house of mistakes made. Based on a limited view of my potential to be better than I was choosing to be, and because of this. I often wish to be able to turn back the hands of time. But alas I can not, but then again who can? This actually expresses two sentiments; one obviously is regret, so there are things in part I would like to change. Two, is the longing for those moments, memorable moments that I would like to revisit again and again if it were possible.
The present I see myself in part as a reflection within a mirror. I see maturity, I see growth, I see awakening and enlightenment. Most importantly, I see an abundance of change and I am speaking of spiritually, mentally and emotionally. When I speak of the future, I smile to think of the many tomorrows ahead of me filled with hope and the promise that each day I am given is what I choose to make of it. Hoping it is good, or even what may be perceived as not so good.
I walk in the joy and peace of understanding that I am not the product of my environment, but rather the opposite. My environment is in fact a byproduct of my mind-state. Wow! That’s a bit heavy for an appetizer, though my idea of interacting is like an all-you-can-eat- buffet. The main course can be served first if you are hungry enough. LOL, the table is set for two!
My thoughts are varied as you can see. I would most like to meet someone who is truly intrigued, and who truly enjoys an open, honest and good conversation. How about this? What if we were to agree to become better acquainted through an up close and personal three question at a time format? Any three questions may be asked, but I challenge you to dig deep because I will. If you are wondering why I suggest three questions at a time; the desire to know a little bit more and a little bit more peaks the interest, doesn’t it?
I can imagine that as you read these few , and I do mean few shared thoughts, that this is not quite what you may have been expecting. I say that to say this, I am a bit different from the norm. So, it might be wise to expect a great conversation upon our time together. Until we are blessed to meet through the courtesy of the US Postal Service again, it is my sincerest hope that you will continue to be well.
