Steven Owens – Inmate Penpal #081413-0613
August 14, 2013 ¤ Male Inmates Age 41 - 45
I was born in Chicago, Illinois.
I left my mothers house when I was fifteen years old because I thought I was grown. Started selling drugs for an income, then I was off the streets. At the same time I was hanging with some so-called friends and someone got killed. I was blamed for it.
I served six years but, before being incarcerated in 1995 I met my future wife. She was the love of my life. After getting released in 2002 I found her and we got married. We had five kids. We were living a nice life till this happened.
I got re-arrested and now I don’t have my family. My wife said she can’t do this time without me by her side (what happened to till death do us part?). Now I don’t hear from her or my kids. That was the only family that I had.
No matter how remorseful I am, it can’t change the fact of what happened. I struggle every day with this and my faith. It felt like my life ended in a flash of light. Now I am here without anything to look forward to in my life.
So, if you have any words of encouragement I am interested. I really need all the helpful advice that you might be able to offer. What I need is hope. Hope to hear from you soon.
