Russel Barrette – Inmate Penpal #082911-0214
August 29, 2011 ¤ Male Inmates Age 41 - 45
A biography about me? Wow – that sounds a lot easier than it really is!
I guess the best place to start is who I was before prison. I was basically a teenager in an adult body. I pretty much lived each day as one big party, always looking for the next big rush.
Prison has definately given me the time to figure out who I am and what I really want out of life. Deep huh?
I was raised in small town USA by two loving parents and three older sisters. I joined the US Coast Guard when I was 17 and learned to cook (which is still one of my favorite pastimes). I did that for four years, then got out and into Real Estate. Real Estate has pretty much been my main source of income since.
My taste in food varies from calamari to PB & J sandwiches. I love to travel and have been to 9 different states (including Alaska), plus well over a dozen trips out of country. Seven times to Jamaica (a lot of stories from there)!!
My taste in music varies as much as my taste in food! My most recent favorite artists include: Adele, Toby Keith, AC/DC, R. Kelly and Eminem! Crazy huh?
I am a slow but avid reader – some of my favorite authors include: Stephanie Myers, Dean Koontz, Stewart Woods, and J.R. Ward. Basically novels of fiction and/or adventure.
I am generally a very positive person and I don’t like drama. I accept responsibility for why I am here. If you give me the benefit of the doubt, and are interested, I will tell you about what happened. “I can’t undo yesterday but I can act today to influence tomorrow” (a great quote I learned somewhere).
I tend to expect the best out of people (in here that can be a bad thing). Since 1.1.11 I have lost 50+ pounds and I am still going! Its not easy to eat healthy in here…
About my pictures: the one of me wearing the hat and black leather jacket was taken in 2005. At my heaviest! The latest pic is the one in my state “blues”.
(Aug. 2011) Feeling fine and looking good! LOL. I hope you like what you see! Photo’s in prison suck – don’t they?
Okay – so maybe that wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Ha Ha. Send me a letter (pictures welcome) and I will definatly write back.
Please help share me on Facebook and Twitter!
