Anthony Adams – Inmate Penpal #101412-1347
October 14, 2012 ¤ Male Inmates Age 21 - 25
Where do I begin?
I have to keep it within 800 words so I guess you’ll have to contact me to find out more. Anyways, I was born in Ontario, Canada. I traveled back and forth across the border with my mother until we settled in Niagra Falls, New York when I was 9.
I have been living there ever since and have had a few brush-ins with the law when I was a juvenile because honestly I was a bad kid. When I hit 15 things went from bad to worse. I can acknowledge now that I’ve made a lot of bad choices as a kid that I shouldn’t have, and I’ve definately learned from them.
Unfortunately it cost me a lot of years over my head to figure things out. I landed in my first prison at the age of 17. I was the youngest one there and on average everybody was at least 10 years older, a lot of them never going home.
I could tell you that being in this type of environment bothered me but it didn’t. This is just something that I can’t really control, so I have to adopt. People do their time differently, some stress out constantly, some turn to religon, some turn to drugs, some turn gay and some turn in to addicted gamblers.
For me, I just stay myself. From what people tell me, I’m an OK guy. I don’t have to describe myself often so I don’t have any masterpieces put together to say. Right now I am 21 years old, I don’t do any drugs and I like to have fun. I would consider myself to be funny and I joke around with people that I am cool with.
Some people here try to acr “extra” serious or tough but I’d rather be laughing at something funny. I like to be active all the time whether it is playing sports or working out. That covers physical, but I love mental growth even more. I read mostly books that will give me knowledge, but I am also an avid James Patterson reader.
I also engage in educational debates with people I’m cool with to keep my mind sharp. I also have a bunch of business oriented books that I bought and plan to put to good use when I am able to. I spend a lot of work doing my law work because I’m trying to give some of this time back. But the majority of my time is spent writing books.
I have two books that are fully completed and I am working on my third one right now. The types of books that I have written are considered “urban novels”, I’ve let a couple of people read them and so far I have gotten good appraisals. They were both written in the last 8 months and didn’t finish the editing (which I have done a thousand times) until recently, so I havent had an opportunity to get them published yet.
Most people spend their time doing nothing, but I’m trying to accomplish things for myself even if its from in here. For me it helps pass the time as well as keeping me away from jailhouse B.S., I feel that this is also a way for me to be self-sufficient. I think about my future and know that I don’t want to be dependant on anybody else. So besides that, my only real plans are to try and make it out of prison sometime in my thirties.
I would like to have a kid one day, but things are a little complicated in my position. As for myself, I’m not picky when it comes to meeting women. I’ve learned that choosing a woman for her looks usually doesn’t turn out right, so I’ve become more interested in what is on the inside.
I like women who are sure of themselves, someone who knows what they want and are not afraid to go out and get it. Someone I can conversate with about real life things and build a relationship with. I like women who are motivated to better themselves and grow mentally.
I like women who are not easily manipulated and are able to make their own decisions in life instead of going with the “crowd”. So what do I want in a woman? Its hard to say because I haven’t met you yet. Every man wants a woman, wife, girlfriend or lover depending on how he feels about her.
I’ve learned that people tend to expect too much when they put titles on things or rush into them. So what I need is a friend, someone I can get to know and if things grow from there then hey, I guess it was meant to be. So, hopefully this is you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
