David Boyd – Inmate Penpal #051512-0016
May 15, 2012 ¤ Male Inmates Age 46 - 50
I came from a good family. I graduated from Upper Darby Senior High School in 1983 and not knowing what I wanted to do, I had a series of dead-end jobs with nothing serious until I turned 30.
I was never in a serious relationship and was pretty much free to roam around, I then thought about a career in the military. I looked into it, and joined the US Navy. I was trained as a jet engine mechanic and did 4 cruises, seeing a lot of the world.
I made a big mistake late in my career outside the military and got into trouble which has cost me everything. I had a very nice girl I was engaged to marry, but it was too much for her to handle so she moved on and met another. Then, I lost my house to forclosure, and I seemed to face hardships, one after another.
I pray and talk to God the Father Almighty who is in heaven and asked for forgiveness, protection, love, courage and wisdom. I now have this feeling that everything is going to be OK when I am at home. It is a wonderful, great and calming feeling.
I plan to start all over. Save my money, get a house, meet a nice girl to one day marry and take care of and love and be the best I can be for her. I never want to go back to prison again.
I am a better person today as most take freedom and rights not very seriously and once taken away, a very different way of life one is forced to live, I now understand and appreciate all we have and all there is to do and see.
My family, my mother is my rock and my center. Without her love, help and understanding I would be in pure hell. Family is the most important thing to have and maintain.
It is never too late to start again and I am happy to have the chance. I like to laugh and make others laugh and enjoy life. I am now looking for that special girl to share all things with. I am a hard worker, honest, very fair and I may surprise you as a second look see’s so much more.
Beauty truely is in the eye of the beholder, just take your time and one will see so much more. But, most are in a hurry. You may be very surprised.
