William J. Crary – Inmate Penpal #072911-0142
Start date : July 29, 2011 ¤ Listed in : Male Inmates Age 36 - 40
I am a 36 year old walking contradiction. What people expect of me (because of whatever preconceived ideas) I usually am not -or- I am, but I am also the opposite.
I am not expected, at my age, to like music from the 1920′s, 30′s and 40′s (jazz, big band, swing), but I do as well as the music from my generation – the 80′s and early 90′s.
As a guy, I am not supposed to like romantic and old black and white movies and musicals. Once again however, I do yet still enjoy a modern blockbuster “guy” film.
I am a Messianic believer. I am a believer in the Master, the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), yet I still keep the Torah (law) and practice Judaism, that is, Messianic Judaism. To some, this is a contradiction but I know it is one of the only things that is not. I simply wish to imitate the Master as he lived his life according to the Torah of God.
One of my favorite teaching from the verses is Matthew 5:17-21 which reads:
Mat 5:17 – Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 – For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.
Mat 5:19 – Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 – For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment.
I love to write. I have written short stories and poetry and have done so since I was about seven or eight years old. I learned the craft of writing (somewhat) from my dad who also wrote most of his life. Writing is a passion and a pastime for me, especially in here.
Another passion of mine is drawing portraits. It was a hidden talent I discovered here in prison just a couple of years ago. It just sort of happened. I just picked up a pencil one day and began to draw. I have included a couple portraits for my art page and hope to include more, although I do not think a scanned copy does them justice.
I also enjoy drawing cartoons – Garfield is one of my favorites. I don’t draw them anymore as I concentrate more on portraits.
A few other bits about me:
I have 3 beautiful children, all of whom I am very proud. I have two daughters and a son. My oldest turned 18 years old this August. Yes, I started young.
I know very little about them as various people have done their best to keep any information about them from me. I was however, able to make some contact with my oldest and communicated a bit with her before those keeping her away put an end to it.
I was able though, to find out that she was also a writer and wishes to pursue Journalism in College – even without my influence. Must be the genes.
It is my hearts desire to re-establish a relationship with each and every one of my children and to let them know I love them very much, and that I never stopped thinking of them.
I love to cook, before coming to prison, I was pursuing my associates degree in cullinary arts. Chinese/asian food is my favorite food to cook.
I like to study history – especially the WWII time period. Education as a whole I actually find enjoyable.
Outside of here I like to swim, bowl, play video games, go to the movies, and spend romantic evenings with the one I love (providing there is a match out there for me).
I am looking for a woman to write to who is able to accept me for who I am, including my so called contradictions; who can accept me even in the face of what I was locked up for. Maybe even a woman who has faced a similar situation once in her life.
I am looking for friendship at first, that is, from the female perspective. I have enough guys around me. If things were to progress then I would love to form a relationship with someone who could love me. Someone I could make happy and love.
I have less than three years left until I am a free man. I hope to make my connections out there and, if things go right, I would like to have one great connection with one great woman. So, if there are any lovely ladies still reading this and still interested in pursuing more, I would love to hear from you.
