Biography Guidelines: 

1. We reserve the right to alter all profile listings for typos and/or inappropriate content.
2. Anyone who places a false photo will have their profile listing removed.
3. Do NOT conduct business with your profile listing. No solicitations of any kind are permitted.
4. Do NOT name anyone by name in your profile listing. The Only name in your profile listing is yours.
5. No profanity, racial, hate-related or adult content is permitted.

You are allowed up to 800 words.

1. Please keep your address up-to-date. All address changes must come directly from the inmate. They should mail any address changes as soon as possible so we can update their profile. Address changes are free of charge. 

Reports of returned letters due to undeliverable address may result in your profile listing being suspended.

2. A photo is highly recommended as it will greatly increase the response rate for your profile listing. You can have up to 3 photos in your profile listing at no additional charge.

If mailing an original photo by postal mail, once we have scanned it we will return it to you via postal mail. Make sure you write your Full Name, Prison Facility Name and Department of Corrections ID Number on the back of your photo. If you are submitting a group photo, please indicate which person you are in the photo. Be sure to do this for each photo if submitting more than one.

False photos is a policy violation and will result in your profile listing being deleted from our service without refund.

3. Please advise us of any changes in your release date. If you are estimating your time of release please specify that on your application. If your release date occurs during your subscription period, your profile listing will be discontinued on that date. This will prevent the correctional facility receiving unnecessary undeliverable mail.

4. While your profile listing will be available to a world-wide audience 24 hours a day, we cannot guarantee how many responses (if any) you will receive. 

5. Changes to any profile listing must be submitted in writing directly from the inmate by postal mail. We will not accept any change request or requests to cancel the profile listing from any third party. This is to protect the interests of the inmate subscriber.

6. If you experience more mail than you can handle please advise us and we can suspend your profile listing until further notice. This will not change the expiration date of your profile listing.

7. While we try to limit making changes to the wording of a profile listing, we reserve the right to edit, delete, reject, or change wording in any profile listing.  No profanity, racial, hate-related or adult content is permitted.

8. Do not solicit pen-pals for gifts or money. This is an abuse of our service and if reported can result in suspension or deletion of your profile listing.

9. All profile information submitted will appear in the profile listing, including your full name and mailing address. Pen-pals can contact you directly without any intervention on the part of Prison Inmate Penpal. We do not charge a fee for pen-pals to write to you. In addition, we do not receive or forward emails to any inmate.

10. Once your profile listing is completed and posted online, there are no refunds. In addition, if you cancel the profile listing or it is suspended or deleted prior to the listing expiration date due to a policy violation, there is no prorated refund.

11. All profile listings which expire have a 30 day grace period (which we suspend the listing) to be renewed. Once the 30 day grace period ends all profile listing data will be deleted from our service. At that time a new profile listing will need to be submitted to make use of our service.

12. If you would like to earn free time toward your profile listing, you can be awarded a one month listing extension for each referred inmate who subscribes to our service. In order for the free time to be awarded to your account, the referred inmate must list your Full Name and Prison ID number on their application. This identifies you as the referring party and is the only means we have to verify the referral.

In choosing to place an inmate profile listing you understand and agree that you are solely responsible for all information submitted to and posted in the listing on Prison Inmate Penpal. Prison Inmate Penpal are not the publishers any information posted to an inmate profile, Prison Inmate Penpal are service providers whose service enables you to place a profile listing on the internet for the purpose of developing pen-pal relationships with outside parties who elect to become a pen-pal. Prison Inmate Penpal makes no guarantees as to the successful results your inmate profile listing will have. In no event will Prison Inmate Penpal be responsible for any incidental, consequential, exemplary or other damages arising from or relating to your use of this service.
